Child who survived Ballycastle crash facing 'crucial' hours as Rev John Stanbridge asks for prayers

The family of a little girl who lost her mum and sister in a quad bike crash have asked for "immediate prayer" to be said for her.

Rev John Stanbridge from Ballycastle, Co Antrim wrote to the congregation of his church and other friends urging them to pray for a miracle for Hannah Smyth.

The five-year-old was seriously injured in the crash that tragically killed her mother and sister last week, but had initially been making some progress at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

However on Wednesday night, Rev Stanbridge said: "I'm just off the phone with the Smyth family and they have asked for immediate prayer for Hannah who remains in a critical condition.

"The family have been told that the next 24 to 72hrs will be crucial.

"Pray for only what God can do, a miracle of healing, body and mind for Hannah."

Hannah was seriously injured in a collision between a tractor and quad bike on May 12.

She was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast following the incident on the Whitepark Road, in which her younger sister Bethany and their mother Clare, 35, died.

They were laid to rest on Sunday.
