A London primary school child was left terrified after a man in clown mask threatened them as they walked to their class.

An alert was circulated to parents of students in Brentford following the incident just after 8am this morning outside the Green Dragon School.

The police were called and it was confirmed that a child had run away from a man in a mask.

An alert put out by the School Watch system locally said that the person was a mixed race man in his early 30s, wearing a ‘clown mask’.

The warning added: “Pupil got off the bus at the Travel Lodge. The man was on the opposite side of the road and shouted “I’m going to get you”, and chased him.

“He was wearing a killer clown mask. Police were contacted immediately.”

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “On Tuesday 17 September at 08:20hrs, police were called to a Brentford school after a student reported being chased by a man in a mask.

“Officers attended and spoke to the student, his parents and staff of the school.

“It was ascertained that the student was not chased but had run off as they were scared due to the fact the man was wearing a mask.”

The school did not want to comment.

It comes after a similar incident where someone wearing a ‘Pennywise’ mask from the Stephen King’s novel ‘It’ horrified a seven-year-old Cornwall.
