A nine-year-old girl is in hospital with serious injuries to her arm after being hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to New Ferry road at around 6pm to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Police and paramedics arrived at the scene in Wirral and found the girl had been hit by a Mini One car.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious but what police have described as a non–life threatening arm injury.
The driver of the car stopped to assist police with enquiries.
Following the crash the road was closed and re-opened an hour and a half later at 7.30pm.
