Child struck by car outside St Thomas Primary School in Riddrie

A child pedestrian has been struck by a car outside a primary school in St Thomas Primary School in Riddrie.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Smithcroft Road after the alarm was raised at around 3:20pm this afternoon.

The child was checked over by paramedics at the scene while the street was shut off to traffic for an hour.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a child pedestrian struck by a car on Smithycroft Road in Glasgow around 3.20pm on Friday, 29 October.

“The child was assessed by the ambulance service and the road was reopened by 4.25pm."
