Three children and two adults in hospital after horror car crash on Scots road

Police have appealed for witnesses after a "serious" two-car smash left the drivers and three children in hospital.

The white Audi A5 and white Vauxhall Astra collided on the A90 in Aberdeenshire yesterday afternoon.

A 50-year-old man, who was driving the Audi, and the Astra driver, a 27-year-old, woman, were both rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment after suffering "serious injuries."

Three children were passengers in the Astra, and they were also taken to hospital as a precaution, with medics discovering one of the children had sustained serious injuries in the crash.

The crash occurred near to the hamlet of Rathen, on the Aberdeen to Fraserburgh road, about 5.50 pm on Monday, November 9, 2020.

Sergeant Scott Deans, of the Road Policing Department, said: "Our thoughts at this sad time are with the families of those involved in this collision.

"We have spoken to several witnesses but would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, who saw either vehicle around that time or has dash cam footage of the incident.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw a white Audi A5 being driven on the A90 about 5.30 pm that day. "
