Child rushed to hospital after falling 20ft down rock face near Jacob's Ladder

A child has been hospitalised after falling 20ft down a rock face near Jacob's Ladder.

Police arrived at the Tweeddale Street area of Oban around 5pm on Sunday 1 August.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews from Oban and Paisley as well as Line Rescue Crews from Lochgelly and East Kilbride also attended.

The child, who has not been identified publicly, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

His current condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to the Tweeddale Street area of Oban around 5pm on Sunday, 1 August, 2021, following a report that a child had fallen.

"Officers assisted the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at the scene and the child was taken by ambulance to hospital with a serious leg injury.”
