Child rushed to hospital after being hit by vehicle in Miles Platting

A boy has been rushed to hospital following an accident in Miles Platting.

Police were called to Naylor Street just after 3pm to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a child.

The child, believed to be a young boy, suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

The driver also stopped at the scene, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.

Neighbours described seeing emergency services in the area following the collision.

Christopher Washington, 51, who lives on nearby Eastleigh Drive, told the Manchester Evening News : “There was one police car and two ambulances. A young boy about seven or eight was put in an ambulance and it shot off.

“I’m not sure if anyone was put in the second ambulance. They carried him from one ambulance to the other.

“The kid ran across the road and the vehicle caught him. It’s shocking.”

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called to Naylor Street just after 3pm to reports of an RTC involving a vehicle and a child.

“The child suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The driver stopped at the scene."
