Child rushed to hospital after being hit by car on Scots road

A child has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a Scots road.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Stonefield Road in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire around 5.50pm on Friday August 6.

The youngster was then taken to University Hospital in Wishaw.

Their condition is unknown at this time.

Cops confirmed that they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.50 pm on Friday, 6 August, 2021, police received a report of a child having being struck by a car in Stonefield Road, Blantyre.

"The child has been taken by ambulance to the University Hospital Wishaw.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing."
