A young boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by car in Colton.
Police say the child - whose age is not yet known - was conscious and breathing at the scene.
However his current condition is not yet known.
They were called out to the accident on on Bullerthorpe Lane at 5.56pm today.
The driver of the grey Kia car which collided with the child stopped at the scene.
The road has been closed both ways between Stile Hill Way and A642 Aberford Road.
