Dec. 04--A man living in a McHenry home where a state-licensed day care facility is run has been charged with possession of child pornography, authorities said Thursday.
Micheal L. Chaparro, 26, was charged with four felony counts of child pornography was ordered held on $50,000 bail.
Chaparro was arrested after the Illinois attorney general's office and the Pennsylvania state police began investigating a person who was downloading child pornography, according to the McHenry County sheriff's office.
A subpoena to the person's Internet service provider led authorities a computer in the 45000 block of West Ramble Road in McHenry, officials said. Officials issued a search warrant for the home at 5:35 p.m. on Dec. 2, and child pornography was found on a computer belonging to Chaparro, according to authorities.
Chaparro lives at the home with his mother and father, the sheriff's office said. The family runs a day care center on a separate floor of the home, officials said.
At least 10 children are enrolled at the center, but there is no indication that any of them were involved, officials said, adding that police are continuing to investigate.
Police notified the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, which developed a safety plan that includes barring Chaparro from the home when children are present, officials said.
