A child who police believe was inside a parked car where a man and woman died in Melbourne's east last night was not physically harmed, police said.
The man and woman were found in the car outside a block of units on Mount Pleasant Road in Nunawading shortly after 6:00pm.
Police said the woman had already died when emergency crews arrived, while the man died at the scene a short time later.
The child, who was also believed to have been inside the vehicle, was not physically hurt.
Police said they believed the three knew each other but the exact cause of the deaths was still being investigated.
Investigators were not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
