Child performers wanted for Northern Stage's summer pantomime Sleeping Beauty

Pantomimes aren't just for Christmas and that myth will be well and truly dis-spelled at the end of the month when Sleeping Beauty hits the stage at Northern Stage.

Starring Boulevard's host, Miss Rory as Carabosse, with choreography from the cabaret club's leading lady Danni Dee, the summer pantomime will run at the city centre theatre from August 27 - 31.

The cast also includes Dame Patsy, the popular dame from Playhouse Whitley Bay's Christmas panto, former Disney princess Robyn McEnaney and ex Made in Tyne & Wear presenter and South Shields lass Hazel Pude.

Set in Geordieland, can the handsome Prince Philip of Fenham wake Sleeping Beauty with the help of Queen Patsy and Muddles?

Well, rather than just sitting in the audience at Northern Stage watching the action unfold, local youngsters are being sought to actually be on the stage as part of the cast.

Production team Glendo Entertainment are welcoming children to join them for a two-day holiday workshop with them which includes a GUARANTEED place to perform in Sleeping Beauty.

Children’s workshops are taught by professional teachers and take place on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 August from 10am to 5pm.

The minimum age of a child is six and maximum height is 4ft 6.
