Child outgrown their school uniform? How to easily donate it to other families

The summer break has come round, which means it will soon be time to buy the kids a new school uniform.

But what do you do with your child's old uniform once they've grown out of it or moved to a new school ?

Would you consider donating it, so a less fortunate family can prepare their child for September without having to dip into their tight budget?

If so, it's never been easier to pass on a school uniform.

A North East charity which provides FREE school uniforms to families who need them is now taking collections in Newcastle.

Back to school checklist

The Community School Clothing Scheme was founded two years by Freema Chambers, who came up with the idea after she struggled to replace her growing son's school trousers during a time of financial difficulty.

They accept all unwanted school skirts, shirts, dresses, shoes, trousers and branded school jumpers, which are distributed to parents who need them.

The charity has opened a donation station outside the All Saints' Store in Eldon Square , Newcastle.

Clothes can be dropped off there until Sunday, September 1.
