Child mowed down by car in Glasgow in broad-daylight crash

A child has been mowed down by a car in Glasgow.

Emergency crews were called to Hotspur Street in the North Kelvinside area on Wednesday.

The alarm was raised at around 12.30pm.

Police told our sister title, Glasgow Live, that ambulance crews also attended and rushed the child to hospital.

The nature of the child's injuries and their current medical condition are not known at this time.

No other injuries were reported by police.

Officers did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed said: “Officers were called to Hotspur Street, Glasgow, at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 19 following a crash involving a car and a child pedestrian.

"The child has been taken to hospital by ambulance.”
