Child marriage bid foiled in Vizag district

VISAKHAPATNAM (Person)

VISAKHAPATNAM: An attempt to marry off a 13-year-old minor girl was foiled by the member of state commission for protection of child rights, Gondu Sitaram, in Padmanabham mandal.

When Sitaram came to know about the wedding plans, he alerted the Childline, revenue, police, and other officials concerned, who counselled the parents.
