Child in hospital after eating mystery blue tablet found in infant school playground

A child is being treated in hospital after eating a blue tablet found in the playground of an infants' school.

Police have moved to urgently warn parents to be wary of their children consuming blue tablets after a child was taken to hospital.

A South Wales Police spokesman said the force received reports at around 5.45pm on Friday of blue tablets being found in the playground at Trallwng Infants School in Pontypridd. One child has been taken to hospital as a precaution after consuming the tablets, the force said in a social media post.

“We want to alert parents and guardians of children at the school to ensure that the pupils know not to touch or consume the tablets,” the statement said.

“If you suspect your child may have taken a blue tablet and they feel unwell or has had an adverse reaction then please seek medical help immediately.

“We would urge anyone who finds any of these tablets to report them to us as soon as possible quoting reference number 2100328507.”
