Child in hospital after being knocked down by car in Glasgow

A little girl was hospitalised after being knocked down by a car in Glasgow.

The child was hit by the vehicle on Edinburgh Road in the city's east end at around 4.25pm yesterday.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the young girl was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

She was treated for non life threatening injuries.

The road was re-opened around 7.40pm last night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road crash involving a vehicle and a female child on Edinburgh Road, Glasgow, around 4.25pm on Monday, 4 January, 2020.

"Emergency services attended and the girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children with non life threatening injuries.

"The road was re-opened around 7.40pm.”
