Child found living in cannabis farm during drug raid

A man has been arrested after a child was found during a drug raid.

Merseyside Police attended a property in Bootle this morning (Monday, April 4) following suspicions that cannabis was being grown. After officers gained entry to the property, they found a cannabis grow. Officers also found a child in poor living conditions at the address. A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and child neglect.

The man is currently in custody ahead of being questioned by detectives. Sefton Police Facebook page shared the news of the arrest. The post said: "Operation Pelican and South Sefton community team have this morning arrested a 29-year-old male for cultivation of cannabis and child neglect. Officers attended an address which was suspected to be growing cannabis in Bootle.

"Upon gaining entry a cannabis cultivation was located and poor living conditions for a child also at the address. The male is now in custody awaiting questioning by detectives."
