2yo girl killed in NSW house fire, four people escape

Police have recovered the body of a two-year-old girl after a house fire in a small town north of Lithgow on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to Capertee, 45 kilometres north of Lithgow, at 8:00am.

A 44-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, along with two children aged four and one, escaped the house, and were treated on scene before being taken to hospital.

The house has been destroyed, and police have established a crime scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
