Child falls from first floor window of house as air ambulance lands at scene

A boy was rushed to hospital after falling from a first floor window at a house in Wirral.

Emergency services were called to Tudor Road in Rock Ferry to reports that a child had fallen from a first floor window.

The air ambulance was called to the scene and was spotted landing close to Gladstone Medical Centre on Old Chester Road.

The boy, whose age is not known, was checked over at the scene by a doctor before being taken to hospital.

It is understood that he was conscious and breathing following the fall.

Police are in the area and are carrying out house-to-house enquiries to try and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a house in Tudor Road, Rock Ferry, at 11:15 am today, Monday 30th March, to reports a child had fallen from a first floor window.

"The child, a boy, was conscious and breathing, and checked at the scene by a doctor before being taken to hospital.

"House-to-house enquiries are being carried out in the local area to establish the circumstances."

The ambulance service confirmed that it had attended the incident this morning and that the boy had been taken to hospital.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an address in Tudor Road, Rock Ferry, at 11:49am on Monday 30 September.

"The air ambulance attended the incident along with an advance paramedic, a command paramedic and an ambulance.

"One patient was taken to hospital."

The extent of the boy's injuries are not known at this stage.
