Child and two adults hit by car outside Tesco in Aberdeenshire

A child and two adults have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a Tesco supermarket in Aberdeenshire.

Officers from Police Scotland and paramedics were called to the store at around 2.10pm today on Newtonhill Road in Newtonhill.

All three pedestrians were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by road ambulance as a precaution.

As a result of the incident the flyover into the village was closed, however it has now re-opened .

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1407 hours to attend a road traffic incident at Newtonhill Road, Stonehaven.

"We dispatched two ambulances and a paramedic response unit to the scene and transported two adults and an infant to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received report of a crash involving a car and three pedestrians on Newtonhill Road outside Tesco in Newtonhill around 2.10pm.

"The pedestrians, two adults and a child, were taken by ambulance to hospital as a precaution.

"The flyover into Newtonhill was closed but re-opened around 3.20pm."
