Child among three people rushed to hospital as car crashes into bus on busy Scots road

A child has been rushed to hospital after a car crashed into a bus on a busy Scots road this morning.

Emergency services scrambled to Hayfield Road in Kirkcaldy after the alarm was raised at around 11.20am on Thursday. Ambulance crews attended and a child, a man and a woman were all taken to hospital for treatment.

The condition of the trio is currently unknown. There were no reported injuries from the bus but Hayfield Road currently remains closed eastbound while recovery is arranged for the vehicles.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 11.20am to a report of a crash involving a car and a bus on Hayfield Road, Kirkcaldy, eastbound. A man, a woman and a child from the car were taken by ambulance to hospital.

“There were no reported injuries from the bus. The road is closed eastbound for recovery of the vehicles.”
