Child, 7, and woman taken to hospital after car crash in Shawlands in Glasgow

A child has been taken to hospital after a car crash in Glasgow today.

The seven-year-old and a woman, 27, were in the vehicle at the time of the smash on Camphill Avenue, Shawlands, at around 8.50am.

They were taken for treatment at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be checked over.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.50am on Monday, August 17, police were called to a report of a road crash involving one car on Camphill Avenue, Shawlands.

"Emergency services attended and the 27 year-old woman driver and her seven-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be checked over."
