Child, 13, with no underlying health conditions dies with Covid - Latest UK hospital deaths

A 13-year-old with no underlying health conditions is one of 315 new coronavirus hospital deaths recorded today (February 19) in England.

The latest NHS data brings the total number of confirmed Covid deaths in English hospitals to 80,739.

Patients were aged between 13 and 103 years old and the date of death ranges from April 18, 2020 to February 18.

All patients had underlying health conditions, except 26 individuals aged between 13 to 96 who did not.

A further 28 deaths were recorded in the South West region.

Throughout January and February, the South West has reported the lowest number of daily hospital deaths, but today the South East reported lower - with 27.

Yesterday, only 9 deaths were confirmed across the South West showing a jump to 28 today.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by region are as follows:

  • East of England - 43
  • London - 44
  • Midlands - 66
  • North East & Yorkshire - 43
  • North West - 64
  • South East – 27
  • South West - 28

Yesterday one more death was reported in the Somerset area, three were reported in Gloucestershire and two in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
