Child, 12, and parents offered 'words of advice' after reports of person with 'sword' at park

A 12-year-old and his parents were given ‘words of advice’ from police following reports of a someone with a 'sword' at a park in north Manchester. Cops were told someone was seen with an apparent weapon at Boggart Hole Clough in Blackley last Thursday afternoon (May 19).

In video footage seen by the Manchester Evening News , a blurred figure can be seen swinging a sword-like object while walking through the park. Greater Manchester Police have now said a 12-year-old child was identified as the person involved in the incident.

Officers later attended the boy’s parent’s house.

A police spokesperson said the child’s parents were given ‘words of advice’ about the dangers of carrying a weapon.
