Child, 11, seriously injured after crash in Stockport

A child was left seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Stockport.

The 11 year-old pedestrian was struck on Adswood Road, near the junction with Rostrevor Road, shortly before 6:20pm.

Both police and paramedics attended and the road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the aftermath.

Locals reported seeing the air ambulance landing nearby.

Today, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the child had suffered serious injuries.

They added an investigation into the collision was ongoing and that no arrests had been made.

"At about 18:18 on May 2, police and the ambulance service responded to a report of a road traffic collision on Adswood Road in Stockport.

"An 11 year-old pedestrian subsequently attended hospital with serious injuries.

"The driver was dealt with by police at the scene.

"No arrests have been made."
