Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill undergoing tests at hospital for shoulder injury

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill is still undergoing tests for a potential injury in his shoulder area.

The Kansas City Chiefs did provide a bit of an injury update after the game on Hill and it doesn’t seem good. Hill is undergoing tests at a local area hospital for a collarbone injury. It’s not clear if this is a fracture or something more serious, however, the fact that it’s still undergoing testing is not a good sign.

The fact that Hill was transferred to the hospital and that he’s currently being handled by the trauma unit suggests that this injury could potentially be very serious.

Hill suffered his injury during the first half of play on a collision with Jalen Ramsey. He was also shoved by Ramsey in the neck and shoulder area after the play was over. There was no flag on the play for that shoving by Ramsey. It’s hard not to wonder if that shove did any potential damage that hadn’t already been done.

After Hill sustained the injury he was first ruled questionable to return to the game. The team quickly ruled him out for any potential return after they discovered the injury could be more serious.

The Chiefs did not give a timetable or any information on the type of injury that Hill could have sustained. We’ll likely get some updates from coach Reid later this week and from head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder as well. In the meantime, it’s probably best to wish for a safe and speedy recovery.

Update:

There’s some new information on Hill’s injury. We’ve now learned from Burkholder that Hill suffered what is called a sternal clavicular joint injury. Apparently, this is an injury where your clavicle is dislocated at the base and pressed into the sternum. It can potentially be dangerous, which is why he was transported to the hospital. There is still no clear timeline on what recovery would look like for Hill. Here is some more information on that:
