The Kansas City Chiefs might be without star wide receiver Tyreek Hill when they face the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 7.
Hill suffered a sternal clavicular joint injury on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City is now determining a plan of action. Placing the speedy wide receiver on injured reserve with a designation to return is among the Chiefs’ options.
If the team decides to place Hill on injured reserve, he will be eligible to return to practice after six weeks and eligible to play again after eight weeks. Denver will host Kansas City in five weeks.
Hill sitting out eight weeks would be a big blow to the Chiefs’ offense and welcomed news to the Broncos’ defense. In five career games against Denver, Hill has gained 314 yards from scrimmage and has scored four touchdowns.
The Broncos’ showdown with Kansas City on Oct. 17 will be nationally televised on NFL Network and Fox (6:20 p.m. MT).
