Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill injured in collision with CB Bashaud Breeland

The Kansas City Chiefs can’t seem to catch a break with these training camp injuries.

Today, an accidental collision took out one of their star players during team drills. Tyreek Hill was running an out route and ran into cornerback Bashaud Breeland, who was in zone coverage on the left side of the field. Both players were looking for the ball, running full speed and didn’t see each other coming.

According to those in attendance, Hill was down on the field briefly before getting up and hobbling off the field under his own power. He immediately went to the trainers tent to have his right leg examined.

Obviously, we don’t yet know the extent of the injury. This could simply be the Chiefs being cautious with one of their most important stars. Ultimately, Hill left practice early and took a ride on the cart.

There was a bit of good news in this situation, though.

KHSB 41 Action News’ Nick Jacobs saw Hill in the front of the cart. That’s typically a good indication that an injury isn’t as serious, with no need to outstretch the lower body.

In any event, you don’t want to see one of your star players injured during training camp. We’ll get the latest update on Hill’s injury from Chiefs PR when practice concludes.

Update:

A new report say that Hill suffered a quad bruise and is expected to be OK.
