Chiefs vs. Jaguars inactives: DT Marcell Dareus to sit out Week 1

With their home opener set to start in under an hour, the Jacksonville Jaguars have released their inactives list for Week 1’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Here they are:

DT Marcell Dareus (elbow)
LT Cam Robinson (knee)
OT Cedric Ogbuehi (hamstring)
TE Josh Oliver (hamstring)
WR C.J. Board
RB Devine Ozigbo
LB Austin Calitro

S Jordan Lucas
LB Reggie Ragland
OL Ryan Hunter
OL Nick Allegretti
OL Martinas Rankin
TE Deon Yelder
DL Khalen Saunders
With Cam Robinson expected to be out, Marcell Dareus was the name most had their eyes on and the Jags will now have to enter Week 1 without their top run defender. When asked about his situation Saturday, coach Doug Marrone mentioned that rookie Dontavius Russell would be ready, so it appears he’ll probably be joining Abry Jones as a starter.
As for Robinson, second-year offensive lineman Will Richardson will be playing in his place. It will mark the young lineman’s first regular season start and first career start at left tackle. Hopefully, he can hold his own despite going against one of the best pass rushers in football in Frank Clark.
Earlier, NFL Network’s James Palmer reported that Robinson’s injury is a hyperextension, making him a week-to-week case. That’s even more of a reason for Richardson to have a good game, though Robinson could be back next week.
