Chiefs vs. Jags Injury report: Nick Foles listed as a full participant for second consecutive day

The Jacksonville Jaguars returned to TIAA Bank Field Thursday after having Tuesday and Wednesday off due to Hurricane Dorian. Upon their return, there were some changes made to the injury report, but the most important takeaway was that quarterback Nick Foles remained listed as a full participant.

When asked about Foles’ status, coach Doug Marrone said that Foles’ oblique injury was one from earlier, but wasn’t anything major as he didn’t lose practice reps. However, with the team now having to submit an injury report due to it being the regular season, the staff is now in a position where they have to list Foles’ injury regardless as to how minor it is. Still, Marrone insisted that Foles is fine and the veteran will be good to go Sunday.

One notable change that was made was the fact that left tackle Cam Robinson was downgraded to limited participation after being listed as a full participant Wednesday. The third-year tackle is coming off a preseason in which he mostly spent rehabbing for his return from ACL surgery, so his listing is one that is concerning for fans. Friday will be big for him as the team will release their final injury report for Week 1’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

On the defensive side, both defensive end Lerentee McCray and linebacker D.J. Alexander were upgraded to full participation. However, starting defensive tackle Marcell Dareus remained listed as limited. Like Robinson, Friday will be big for him as he’s an important starter for the Jags in the trenches.

Tight end Josh Oliver and reserve offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi remained the team’s two lone non-participants Thursday. Coach Marrone did mention that Oliver seems to be ‘close’ to a return as he’s day-to-day and getting healthier. As for Ogbuehi, it appears either Will Richardson or Brandon Thomas could be options as the team’s backup swing tackles, but ultimately that will be decided later per Marrone.
