The Kansas City Chiefs moved their training camp practice indoors on Sunday due to inclement weather.
Typically, a little passing rain wouldn’t cause the Chiefs’ practice to move inside, but this storm was accompanied by lightning in the area. For safety concerns, they move the team inside when there is lightning. The team did get a chance to work in the rain on the fourth day of training camp practice. Chiefs HC Andy Reid spoke about it following that practice session.
“Today was great because we got work in with a wet ball and you’ve got to have a little bit more focus, especially going into day four when you’re a little bit tired,” Reid said. “And the guys, I thought did a good job with that with the rain and so on.”
Due to inclement weather, today’s practice will remain indoors and is no longer open to the public. Tickets will be valid on Thursday, August 12 as a makeup date. Hope to see you all then!

Today was the team’s “Family Fun Day” which means there were a lot of fans out in St. Joseph attendance with the whole family only to have practice canceled on them. Don’t fret, though, Chiefs Kingdom. The team will be honoring all tickets from today’s practice on Thursday, August 12th as a makeup date. That’s the last practice session before the team’s first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers, so you should see some good hard work from the team.
