The Kansas City Chiefs are hard at work today.
They begin their rookie minicamp, they’ve announced rookie jersey numbers, they’ve signed 17 undrafted free agents, and they just announced that they’ve signed four of their rookie draft picks. Here are the four picks that have signed their contracts with the team.
- Georgia WR Mecole Hardman
- South Carolina DB Rashad Fenton
- Utah State RB Darwin Thompson
- Illinois OL Nick Allegretti
We can finally start referring to the four players above as rookies. This is slightly out of character for Kansas City. Usually the Chiefs are one of the last teams to have their full class under contract. Now, they only need two players to sign, and they’ve not even made it that far along in the offseason program.
The two remaining players yet to sign are Virginia DB Juan Thornhill and Western Illinois DT Khalen Saunders. Hopefully they’ll be under contract soon as well.
