Chiefs safety Eric Berry signs contract and is back with the team

Eric Berry has signed his contract and is back with the Chiefs.

The All-Pro safety returned to Arrowhead Stadium to join the team on Sunday, the day after the Chiefs' third preseason game. He'll attend his first practice on Monday.

Coach Andy Reid doesn't think Berry will play in the preseason finale Thursday against the Packers.

"I would probably lean against that," Reid said. "We'll give him time to get ready for the opener."

Berry will play this season on the $10.806 million franchise tag and will be highest paid safety in the NFL this year.
