Chiefs S Tyrann Mathieu returned to LSU for Spring Game

Patrick Mahomes wasn’t the only player from the Chiefs supporting his alma mater this weekend.

Tyrann Mathieu made a trip down to Baton Rouge for the LSU Spring Game to support the next generation of great players to come through LSU. If you’ll recall, Mathieu’s time in LSU ended on rocky terms. He was dismissed from the program, but now his relationship with LSU couldn’t be stronger. Mathieu’s success as a professional has made him an inspiration to many of the players who join the program.

Mathieu spoke with some media members, and helped get the players pumped up before the Spring Game. Check it out:

Above you’ll find Mathieu leading the huddle for the defensive backs ahead of the Spring Game. Who is that with Mathieu in the middle of the huddle though?

That’s 2019 NFL draft prospect Greedy Williams. I bet Chiefs Kingdom would sure like to see these two players champion the Chiefs secondary. Could Williams be an option for the Chiefs at pick No. 29?

Mathieu provided a great message to the young players at LSU, and he seems optimistic for the type of team they’ll boast in 2019.

Mathieu even spoke a little Chiefs football:

“It’s a new challenge for me. I get to go play for the Kansas City Chiefs. They have a great organization, a great program. I am really just happy that I get to go in there, really put my hand in the pile, and help those guys win.”

Exciting times are on the way for Chiefs Kingdom.
