Chiefs rookies, quarterbacks report to training camp today

Kansas City Chiefs rookies, quarterbacks and injured players report to training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, today.

While the players aren’t set to begin closed practices until Wednesday morning, they’ll get situated at Missouri Western State University today. It’ll be the 10th season that the Chiefs have hosted their training camp in St. Joe on the Griffons campus.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid, QB Patrick Mahomes and select players will have media availability around 2 p.m. CT.  I’d expect a few rookies to have a chance to talk with the media as well, so expect some comments from the team to kick off training camp.

Wednesday will begin three straight days of practices closed to the public. The rest of the team is required to report to camp on Friday, and the first of 15 open-to-the-public practices begin at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The remainder of the open practices will begin at either 8:15 a.m. or 9:15 a.m and generally finish up around 11 a.m. You can find a full list of practice dates, times and activities here.

The rookies, quarterbacks, and injured players will later be joined by veterans on Friday, July 26, when all players are required to report to training camp.
