Chiefs rookie WR Mecole Hardman bought his mom a house

Sometimes the dream of playing in the NFL is about more than fame and stardom.

For Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Mecole Hardman, getting to the NFL allowed him to give back to his mother. Hardman took to Twitter today to announce that he’d dreamed of buying his mom a house since he was just a boy and that he was finally able to do it. It was a great way to let her know that she did a good job raising him.

They shot this beautiful video of the reveal, which you can check out down below:

“I’m just blessed,” said Danyell Hardman. “It makes you feel good as a mother to know that your kids would go to this depth. And he’s smart, making sure you know you did good. He’s smart enough to even put something on like this and give stuff like this to them.”

Touching words from Hardman’s mother, Danyell, who was in tears at the sight of her new home. Hardman gathered friends and family to surprise her with the gift. It was truly a special day.

“I feel good, man,” Hardman said. “I am glad to get it out of the way and get her a home that she’s going to be staying in. So it’s a good feeling, and I’m ready to get this furniture here and get her moved in.”

You could see Hardman’s excitement for his mother, especially when he was grinning from ear to ear and handing her the keys.

It’s always great to see Chiefs players being able to do something like this for their families. For a rookie, that type of selflessness makes you excited for what Hardman will be able to bring to the team in the future.
