The Kansas City Chiefs released their depth chart for Week 4 of the 2019 regular season. This depth chart reflects one new change while neglecting some others.
Generally speaking, these depth charts give you an idea of where a player is in the pecking order. They’re considered unofficial because they’re assembled by the team’s PR staff and not the coaching staff. Some things may not accurately reflect what happens on game day because of that. However, the PR staff does have access to the teams’ closed practices and wouldn’t purposely mislead with the depth chart.
Let’s take a look at this depth chart and see what we can learn.

Offense
| Pos. | First | Second | Third | Fourth |
| QB | Patrick Mahomes | Matt Moore | ||
| RB | Damien Williams | LeSean McCoy | Darwin Thompson | Darrel Williams |
| FB | Anthony Sherman | |||
| WR | Tyreek Hill | Demarcus Robinson | Byron Pringle | |
| WR | Sammy Watkins | Mecole Hardman | De’Anthony Thomas | |
| TE | Travis Kelce | Blake Bell | Deon Yelder | |
| LT | Eric Fisher | Cameron Erving | Greg Senat | |
| LG | Andrew Wylie | Jeff Allen | ||
| C | Austin Reiter | Nick Allegretti | ||
| RG | Laurent Duvernay-Tardif | Ryan Hunter | ||
| RT | Mitchell Schwartz | Martinas Rankin |
Observations:
- The only official change to this depth chart is that Blake Bell is now TE2. He previously was third behind Deon Yelder, who has only received two snaps on the season. Meanwhile, Bell has consistently seen 40% or more offensive snaps in each game.
- Damien Williams was out with a knee injury in Week 3. Darrel Williams backed up LeSean McCoy as third-string RB. Andy Reid praised Darrel for his work this offseason, saying that he dropped some weight and put on some good muscle weight. This change is not reflected on the depth chart, which is a reminder that sometimes it takes a few weeks for these changes to truly take.
- We learned that the offensive depth chart appears to be accurate for now. Jeff Allen filled in for Andrew Wylie on two snaps at LG.
