The Kansas City Chiefs released their depth chart for Week 13 of the 2019 regular season. This depth chart reflects a change to the roster that occurred ahead of Week 11 and another change that occurred leading up to Week 13.
Generally speaking, these depth charts give you an idea of where a player is in the pecking order. They’re considered unofficial because they’re assembled by the team’s PR staff and not the coaching staff. Some things may not accurately reflect what happens on game day because of that. However, the PR staff does have access to the teams’ closed practices and wouldn’t purposely mislead with the depth chart.
Let’s take a look at this depth chart and see what we can learn.

Offense
| Pos. | First | Second | Third | Fourth |
| QB | Patrick Mahomes | Matt Moore | Chad Henne | |
| RB | Damien Williams | LeSean McCoy | Darwin Thompson | Darrel Williams |
| FB | Anthony Sherman | |||
| WR | Tyreek Hill | Demarcus Robinson | Byron Pringle | |
| WR | Sammy Watkins | Mecole Hardman | Gehrig Dieter | |
| TE | Travis Kelce | Blake Bell | Deon Yelder | |
| LT | Eric Fisher | Cameron Erving | ||
| LG | Andrew Wylie | Stefen Wisniewski | ||
| C | Austin Reiter | Nick Allegretti | ||
| RG | Laurent Duvernay-Tardif | Stefen Wisniewski | ||
| RT | Mitchell Schwartz | Jackson Barton |
Observations:
- The Kansas City Chiefs added Gehrig Dieter to the 53-man roster ahead of the Week 11 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. Since he was added over the weekend the team had already released the depth chart and the change wasn’t yet reflected.
- Dieter is a third-string receiver behind Sammy Watkins and Mecole Hardman. His contributions on special teams will be most-felt unless there is an injury that thrusts him into action on offense.

Defense
| Pos. | First | Second | Third |
| LDE | Alex Okafor | Demone Harris | |
| LDT | Chris Jones | Khalen Saunders | |
| RDT | Derrick Nnadi | Mike Pennel | |
| RDE | Frank Clark | Tanoh Kpassagnon | |
| LB | Anthony Hitchens | Ben Niemann | Reggie Ragland |
| LB | Damien Wilson | Darron Lee | Dorian O’Daniel |
| LCB | Charvarius Ward | Rashad Fenton | Mo Claiborne |
| RCB | Bashaud Breeland | Rashad Fenton | |
| CB | Kendall Fuller | Rashad Fenton | |
| FS | Juan Thornhill | Daniel Sorensen | |
| SS | Tyrann Mathieu | Jordan Lucas | Armani Watts |
Observations:
- Emmanuel Ogbah had season-ending surgery on a torn pectoral muscle. He was sent to the injured reserve list in order to make room for Gehrig Dieter in Week 11.
- Joey Ivie was released in order to make room for defensive end Demone Harris, who came from the Ravens practice squad. The Chiefs seem to like having four true defensive ends on the roster as part of the rotation. Harris will fill the second-string DE spot vacated by Ogbah.

Special teams
| Pos. | First | Second |
| P | Dustin Colquitt | |
| K | Harrison Butker | Dustin Colquitt |
| KO | Harrison Butker | |
| LS | James Winchester | |
| H | Dustin Colquitt | |
| PR | Tyreek Hill | Mecole Hardman |
| KR | Mecole Hardman | Tyreek Hill |
Observations:
- There aren’t any changes to the special teams’ depth chart this week. Tyreek Hill is a full practice participant in practice after injuring his hamstring in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs always have guys like Byron Pringle and Darwin Thompson available to take some return duties in the event of an injury.
