Chiefs release UGA Great Justin Houston

The Kansas City Chiefs indicated they were going to move on from OLB Justin Houston earlier this week, and after being unable to find a trade partner, the Chiefs released Houston. Houston has remained a productive player, recording over nine sacks in each of the past two seasons, but his large salary made him too expensive for the Chiefs.

Now, Houston will be a free agent and will be looking for a 3-4 defense for him to join. Look for the Jets to be a potential landing spot for Houston, who could pair with former Georgia OLB Jordan Jenkins.

Houston joins several former Bulldogs who are headed for NFL free agency. Houston is immediately able to find a new team, since he was cut.
