Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had a very busy and memory-filled day at Arrowhead Stadium on Tuesday.
In addition to receiving his Super Bowl LIV championship ring, Mahomes gave out a ring of his own. He proposed to longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews at Arrowhead Stadium today. The couple posted images of their engagement on their Instagram accounts following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl ring ceremony. Brittany showed off the cute proposal setup and Mahomes showed off the ring he gave to his future wife. It seems that Mahomes had the special moment planned out all along.

Mahomes and Matthews have been dating since they were in high school in Whitehouse, Texas. Chiefs fans had been wondering when he might pop the question because the two seem to be inseparable. They’re truly best friends and as it turns out he was just waiting for the right moment to ask her that special question.
A Super Bowl championship, being named Super Bowl MVP, a half-billion-dollar contract extension and getting engaged in the same year. Mahomes will be one of the few people who can look back on 2020 and say it was one of the best years of his life.
