Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes now has 99 rating in ‘Madden NFL 20’

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is finally getting the credit he deserves in the video game where he’s featured on the cover.

When “Madden NFL 20″ launched there were just four players in this season’s “99 club.” It’s a club that features the top-rated players in the game. The year began with Rams DT Aaron Donald, Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner, Bears DE Khalil Mack and Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins as members of the exclusive club.

As the Chiefs faced the Ravens in Week 3, EA Sports sent out one of their “Madden NFL 20” rating adjustors to the game. There he was able to witness Mahomes play from the sidelines and appropriately adjust his ratings. Mahomes had a solid performance against a really good team and it seems to have been enough to get the job done.

Now, Mahomes will join the “99 club” in the game’s latest roster update.

It’s cool to see Mitchell Schwartz present Mahomes with this “99 club” trophy. Mahomes will have to make some room in his trophy case, probably right next to his MVP award. Even better is Mahomes giving his teammates credit for helping him get that 99 overall rating in “Madden NFL 20.”

For most fans of the Chiefs this feels well overdue, he was the best player in the NFL last season and through three games in 2019 he’s been just as impressive. Maybe by the end of the season, he’ll end up as the first and only player with a 100 overall rating in the game.
