Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes can break another NFL record tonight

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes can seize an NFL record from Hall of Famer Kurt Warner on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.

Mahomes needs just 15 passing yards to become the quickest ever to reach 7,500. The 24-year-old QB has a chance to reach the mark tonight in just 24 regular-season games played in his career.

Warner set the record in Week 16 of the 2000 season with the St. Louis Rams. In his first 27 games, Warner recorded 7,688 passing yards. Warner was 29 years old when he set the record.

While the Chiefs’ players are solely focused on getting a win in Denver, fans should take a moment to remember just how special Mahomes is. He’s crushing accomplishments of NFL legends, and his ability will make the Chiefs a competitive franchise for years to come.

Even as the Chiefs hit a rough patch in 2019, Mahomes is more than capable of going out and taking over a game with his remarkable ability to make plays. Some of the biggest of his career have come against the Broncos, like the fabled left-handed pass. Perhaps some more of those will come tonight along with an NFL record.
