Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reaches 7,500 passing yards, breaking Kurt Warner’s record

He’s done it again — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has broken another NFL record.

This time, Mahomes reached 7,500 passing yards in his career faster than any other quarterback in league history. With 15 yards in the first quarter against the Denver Broncos, Mahomes has reached 7,500 yards in just 24 games.

It took the previous record holder, Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, a total of 27 games to earn the original record with the St. Louis Rams. At just 24 years old, Mahomes has already achieved some amazing feats at a record pace. Despite some recent struggles from the entire Chiefs team, Mahomes has all the makings of becoming one of the greatest passers the NFL has ever seen.

What’s crazy is that this all started when Mahomes threw for 284 yards against the Broncos at Denver in the 2017 regular-season finale. It wasn’t his best performance by any means, but it gave him the confidence to come in during 2018 and have an MVP campaign. Tonight, he returned to Denver and broke one of Warner’s records.

Mahomes will be humble, brush off this achievement and credit his teammates. Still, it’s truly amazing the things he’s been able to accomplish in the NFL in such a short time.
