Chiefs’ Players of the Game Week 8 vs. Packers

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Green Bay Packers 31-24 on Sunday Night Football. They were without some of their best players on both sides of the ball. It was still a solid performance by the Chiefs overall considering the injuries, but a couple of bad plays would seal the loss for Kansas City.

Here are your Chiefs’ players of the game:

Offensive Player of the Game: QB Matt Moore

Matt Moore gets the offensive player of the game for the second week in a row. Things started out rough for Moore but he settled into the game by the second quarter. Moore completed 24-of-36 passes for 267 yards passing and two touchdowns to keep up with Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. The performance by Moore should give fans confidence that the Chiefs have a chance to win games without Mahomes on the field.

Defensive Player of the Game: DE Tanoh Kpassagnon

Tanoh Kpassagnon did a great job filling in for an injured Frank Clark as he got two sacks tonight against the Packers. Kpassagnon has been a pleasant surprise this season. He has shown a lot of improvement since entering the league. If he continues to have performances like he did tonight it will give the Chiefs a healthy rotation of pass rushers. They’ll also have confidence if  Clark needs more time to get healthy and misses more games.

Special Teams Player of the Game: P Dustin Colquitt

Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt moved into the top 10 in NFL history for the most punting yards with 49,329 yards in his impressive game against the Packers. Colquitt had three punts for 153 yards with all three being inside the 20-yard line. Colquitt continues to be one of the top punters in the league and it’s great to see him give the Chiefs’ defense great field position especially at the end of games. Unfortunately, they couldn’t capitalize late in this game.
