Chiefs’ Players of the Game in Week 6 vs. Texans

The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Houston Texans 31-24 in Week 6, their second straight home loss after a 4-0 start. It was an up-and-down game, and the Chiefs couldn’t get it done. The questions will soon begin about whether this team is good enough.

Despite the struggles throughout the game, Kansas City still had some performances worth mentioning. Here are our Chiefs players of the game for Week 6:

Offensive Player of the Game: WR Tyreek Hill

In his first game back from getting injured Week 1, Hill had five receptions for a team-high 80 yards and two touchdowns. That brings the total to five different players who’ve led the Chiefs in receiving this season.

Hill made the types of big plays that we are used to seeing out of the Chiefs offense. He still has the game-changing speed and his ability to track the ball in the air. Hopefully, he continues to stay healthy.

Defensive Player of the Game: CB Charvarious Ward

Charvarious Ward is the defensive player of the game thanks to a big interception in the end zone during the fourth quarter. He was in solo coverage against De’Andre Hopkins, one of the best receivers in football, and made a great play to intercept the ball with one hand.

The interception kept the game from getting out of hand, but in the end it was moot, with the Chiefs unable to capitalize. Ward also finished second on the team in tackles with seven. He’s quickly become a reliable corner despite some early struggles.

Special Teams Player of the Game: P Dustin Colquitt

Colquitt had two punts for 119 yards, with one inside the 20 yard-line. The Chiefs special teams struggled today with multiple penalties and a missed field goal by Harrison Butker, but Colquitt had one big play where he was able to get the punt inside of the 10 for a big field flip.
