Chiefs player gets names wrong while giving Bengals huge bulletin board material

With the Kansas City Chiefs seeking revenge, the Cincinnati Bengals don’t need a ton of motivation.

It seems the Chiefs will provide bulletin board material anyway.

Chiefs safety Justin Reid talked with reporters about the upcoming showdown with the Bengals and…had some problems while throwing out a little trash talk.

First, Reid confused Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst as Rams tight end Tyler Higbee. He then confused Hurst with Bengals wideout Tee Higgins.

Reid then threw out the word “finesse” while talking about Higgins, who he described as a bad blocker before saying he’d shut him down.

The whole thing is worth a watch, via PJ Green of Fox 4 KC:

There’s an outside chance this is some sort of inside joke. Or Reid is just confused early in the week about official names (it’s not uncommon for coaches and players to only refer to numbers).

But rest assured the Bengals — and especially Higgins and Hurst — have heard the comments and can use them as a little extra motivation.
