Chiefs now list CB Charvarius Ward as questionable for Week 15 vs. Chargers

When it rains it pours, or at least that seems to be the case with the Kansas City Chiefs defense this week.

Ahead of the “Thursday Night Football” matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Chiefs have added CB Charvarius Ward to the injury report, listing him as questionable with a non-COVID illness. Ward has been one of the team’s top corners this season, coming on strong in coverage in recent weeks.

Ward was dealing with a quad injury early in the season and didn’t play against the Chargers in Week 3. However, with L’Jarius Sneed already ruled out, the team could be dangerously thin in the secondary against a team with a high-powered passing attack.

It’s not clear whether Ward will suit up and play on Thursday night, but anytime you’re added to the injury report late it’s significant. Sometimes guys can play through late injury additions, as Tyrann Mathieu did with a knee injury a few weeks back. Even if Ward does tough out the illness and play through the game, it’s clear that he won’t be at 100% while doing so.
