Chiefs now interested in Cardinals free agent Markus Golden

Free agent defensive end Markus Golden appears to have a number of suitors for his services. Since the beginning of free agency, there is reported interest from the Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants, all of whom have coaching connections to him.

Another team, the Kansas City Chiefs, also are interested, according to Terez Paylor.

It would be a return home. He played collegiately at Missouri and is from St. Louis.

The Chiefs need help on the edge after releasing Justin Houston and trading Dee Ford to the San Francisco 49ers.

Golden would like to return to playing 3-4 OLB, but the Chiefs are moving to a 4-3. He had 12.5 sacks in 2016, leading the Cardinals. However, he tore his ACL in 2017 and had only 2.5 sacks last season.

Four other Cardinals so far have found new teams. Golden could likely land the biggest deal of the group so far.
