The Chiefs could potentially be without a number of starters for their home game Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On Friday, the club announced that receiver Jeremy Maclin will be out due to a groin injury. But the status of six other is in doubt, as well.
Defensive tackle Jaye Howard is listed as doubtful, which means he's unlikely to play, due to a hip injury. He has not practiced all week.
Inside linebacker Derrick Johnson (hamstring), outside linebacker Justin Houston (knee), cornerback Marcus Peters (hip), defensive tackle Dontari Poe (knee/back) and cornerback Phillip Gaines (neck) are all listed as questionable.
The good news, however, is that all five might indeed play, as all but Peters practiced this week.
Houston practiced fully on Wednesday and was limited Thursday and Friday, but Chiefs coach Andy Reid noted Friday that it was possible he could make his season debut Sunday.
Poe did not practice Wednesday or Friday, but he went through limited work on Thursday and Reid said Friday that he would be "fine" for Sunday's game.
Johnson sat out Wednesday and Thursday, but he practiced in a limited fashion Friday. Peters did not practice this week, but he was present for Friday's practice and stood on the sideline. Gaines practiced every day this week, albeit in limited fashion.
Long-snapper James Winchester, who has not practiced all week as he tends to his family following the murder of his father, is also listed as questionable.
